I bought the cottage in 2001 and fully renovated it over the following three years; windows, doors, insulation, siding, paneling, etc., were replaced including the appliances, furnishing, linens, and towels.

 Directions:
Take Hwy 25 North from St.Peters Hwy (No. 2). Hwy 25 referred to as Bay Shore Rd as it comes around Covehead Bay. Follow Bay Shore Road around Covehead Bay, road makes a sharp right just past the Bayside Cottages. Continue north and turn right on MacMillan Lane, just past Warren Road and right before the entrance to the National Park. Cottage is about 500m down on the right.

Alternative Route:
Take Hwy 15 North past the Airport towards Brackley Beach. At Brackley Beach go through the toll booth into the National Park and travel east along the park road. Go over the bridge at Covehead Harbour. Turn right at Stanhope Cape and exit the National Park on to the Bayshore Road. The first left is MacMillan Lane and the cottage is about 500M down on the 

The 1500-square foot cottage sits on a 100'x150' lot and has:


  • Master(big) bathroom (9'x8') that is wheelchair accessible. It is complete with an accessible sink, toilet, grab bars, and a four-foot shower stall that features a built-in seat.
  • Small bathroom/laundry room (8'x8') with a full-size tub and shower combination, vanity, toilet, a 40-gallon electric hot water tank, and a full-size washer-dryer. Laundry soap will be provided.
  • Private outside shower room (8'x8') with hot and cold running water; perfect for getting rid of salt and sand before rinsing and hanging your swimsuits and towels out to dry. 
  • King bedroom (12'x14' facing south) with a king-sized bed, dresser with mirror, two nightstands with lamps, and a 6' closet and shelving  organizer.  Lots of room for your portable traveling crib to sit at the foot of the bed.
  • Queen bedroom (9'x15' facing north) with a queen-sized bed, 10" double-sized futon, mirror, shelves, two nightstands, chest of drawers, reading lamps, and a 7' closet and shelving organizer.
  • Galley kitchen (9'x8') with dishwasher (soap provided), refrigerator, electric oven and stove, microwave, coffee maker,  toaster, blenders, double stainless sinks, filtered drinking water, and lots of cupboards filled with lots of dishes, bowls, and pots.
  • The main room (15'x20') (living room and dining room combo) is complete with an electric fireplace and a 46" TV with Bell Fibe and BluRay. It includes a colonial living room set and table with a bench and chairs.  High speed internet modem and wireless printer are set up in this room.
  • Sunroom (12'x20') with two double-sized 10" futons, side tables, lamps, etc. It has an old 20" TV with VCR and DVD to play old VHS and DVDs.  Also located in this room is a small freezer.
  • Backroom (10'x12') with two 6' patio doors for that outside feeling. It has a 10" double-sized futon, table, and chairs. This doubles as a game room or additional sleeping quarters.
  • Solarium (12'x15') with table setting for 12 and padded patio furniture.  It has a 43" TV with Bell Fibe.  It has an electric fireplace and access from east side open deck (patio door), queen bedroom (patio door) or north side open deck (screen door). The room has six outside patio doors to let you enjoy outdoor living without the company of mosquitos, rain, or cool evenings.
  • 12' x 30' open deck on east side of cottage is accessed from the solarium and small bathroom. An assortment of patio furniture is provided.
  • 10' x 24' open deck on north side of cottage (complete with accessible ramp) is accessed from the main room, solarium, and sunroom. An assortment of patio furniture is provided.  BBQ and propane lobster burner are located on this deck.
  • All rooms are wheelchair accessible except for the small bathroom/laundry room. Please note that the queen bedroom and east deck are only wheelchair accessible from the solarium. The queen bedroom door into the main room will not allow a wheelchair to pass.
  • Air conditioning and electric heat in main rooms, aluminum horizontal blinds on all windows, vinyl vertical blinds or curtains on the patio doors, and six ceiling fans in the main rooms.
  • The cottage, with king and queen beds, four futons, one couch and a queen air mattress, sleeps many people and will easily accommodate two families. Folding tables and benches/chairs allow a large group to sit down for a meal together in both the solarium and the dining room.
  • The grounds have plenty of private space for your family to enjoy without the worry of shared driveways or local traffic.
